The first half of 2026 moved incredibly fast. Here's where I think the industry is heading.

🔥 Rising

1. AI Agents Go Mainstream

ChatGPT Agent, Claude Code, and various frameworks launched in H1. H2 is when they enter actual work workflows.

2. Open Source + Local Deployment

DeepSeek proved open source can beat closed source. More high-quality open models will emerge.

3. AI Tool Industry Shakeout

Thousands of AI tools launched in 2025. Many will die in 2026. Only the genuinely useful will survive.

🧊 Cooling

1. Pure Chat AI "Toys"

AI that only chats and doesn't do things. Novelty wears off fast.

2. The "One AI For Everything" Narrative

No product does everything well. Vertical depth beats horizontal breadth.

3. Premium AI Subscriptions

With DeepSeek free and Kimi free — why pay $20/month? Only 3 types of tools can charge: enterprise, deeply integrated, or uniquely capable.

What This Means

Focus on: AI Agent tutorials, open source tool reviews, money-saving guides, and pitfall warnings.
